Eras Chong, Treasurer
Eras Chong recently joined the Board of Directors of Dialogue Beyond Borders as Treasurer. She is responsible for maintaining financial records, developing a budget plan, and overseeing the organization’s financial accountability. Ms. Chong was born in Hong Kong and later moved to the US. She is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Ms. Chong holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Finance from Villanova University and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University with a focus on International Policy and Management. Ms. Chong is interested in the building cross-sector capacity and is excited to utilize her financial skills to help enrich lives and improve communities.

Elizabeth Dovell
Elizabeth Dovell began her work with Dialogue Beyond Borders
as a Human Rights Education Program Assistant in January 2011
and later joined DBBs Board of Directors. Ms. Dovell was
raised in Long Island and graduated with a B.A. in International
Relations from SUNY New Paltz. After participating in the Pathways
for Mutual Respect program, co-sponsored by the Yale Center
for Faith and Culture, she has incorporated her interests in
the Middle East, human rights, and conflict resolution into
DBBs new program on interfaith and intercultural dialogues.
Ms. Dovell is developing a new curriculum with a focus on Muslim,
Jewish, and Christian youth. In the past, she held key leadership
positions in several human rights organizations as an undergraduate
at New Paltz and worked with various conflict resolution and
international policy NGOs. Ms. Dovell currently works with the
International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect. She
speaks proficient French and conversational Arabic.

Ross Jandrew, M.S. Ed., Deputy
Director
Ross Jandrew has served on the Board of Directors of Dialogue
Beyond Borders since he co-founded the organization in 2009. Mr.
Jandrew grew up in a small town in the Southern Tier of Western
New York and later moved to Long Island where he earned his BA
summa cum laude in English and Media Studies from Adelphi University.
He holds a Masters degree in Education for Middle and High School
English from the City University of New York and oversees the
development and implementation of DBBs human rights curricula.
As an undergraduate at Adelphi, Ms. Jandrew held leadership positions
within human rights and social justice organizations and was known
for his advocacy for the rights of the LGBT community on campus.
Joining the 2008 Corps
of Teach for America to help close the achievement gap, Mr.
Jandrew has been working as a Middle School ELA Teacher in a Brooklyn
public school and in the recipient of the Donors
Choose Grant. He lives in Long Island. |

Nicole Kourbage, L.M.S.W.
Nicole Kourbage joined Dialogue Beyond Borders as a Board Member
in 2010. In this capacity, she trains all of DBBs interns
and volunteers and advises on group facilitation. Ms. Kourbage
graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology from Adelphi University
and a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University. During
her undergraduate years, she played key leadership roles, advocating
for human rights and social justice. As a social worker, Ms.
Kourbage commits herself to the social work code of ethics regarding
her primary obligation to the welfare of all human kind. She
currently works as an adolescent case manager and group adviser
for a community based organization committed to youth leadership
and service learning programming within a Manhattan high school. |

Yana Kusayeva, President
and Executive Director
Yana Kusayeva has served as the founding President and Executive
Director of Dialogue Beyond Borders since 2009. She oversees the
daily operations of the organization, as well as program development.
Ms. Kusayeva was raised in Uzbekistan and immigrated with her
family to the United States when she was 13 years old. She graduated
magna cum laude from Adelphi Universitys Honors College
with a B.A. in International Studies and concentrations in Spanish
and Political Science. With her previous experience working for
international human rights organizations, she later served as
Assistant Director of Adelphis Levermore Global Scholars
program for over three years. Ms. Kusayeva has completed graduate
coursework in the fields of education and international relations
and is currently pursuing an MPA degree in Public Policy and Nonprofit
Management at New York University Wagner School for Public
Service. She is fluent in Russian and English and is proficient
in Spanish. Her professional and research interests include migration,
tolerance, human rights and social justice. Ms. Kusayeva lives
and works in Long Island.

Ryan Z. Myrie, M.S., Secretary
Ryan Z. Myrie has served on the Board of Directors of Dialogue
Beyond Borders since she helped co-found the organization in 2009.
She is in charge of maintaining all financial and organizational
records and helps facilitate workshops. Ms. Myrie holds B.S. and
M.S. degrees in Biology from Adelphi University. In the past,
Ms. Myrie tutored and mentored high school students and spent
her summers working with inner city children as a camp counselor.
Ms. Myrie is interested in international healthcare, especially
in areas where public health is largely neglected. She plans to
begin her studies in medical school and hopes to join Doctors
Without Borders in order to provide high quality medical care
to people caught in crisis. |
